... or the mistake in step 5.
the spout should be on the top to allow a smoother flow, not the bottom as pictured.


not sure why i read all of this, i guess i was hoping for a new technique. looks pretty standard to me.

Or....

Spend $40 at Jiffy Lube instead of the $18 or so dollars the DIY supplies will cost you and save yourself the headache of dragging out your tools and supplies, cleaning them up and putting them back when your done, and disposing of the old oil and filter properly. And after 20-30 minutes you can get on with more interesting things than vehicle maintenance. 12

mustta been a Pontiac those 2.5 filters suck
anyway....mistake is ....shut engine off....THEN check oil level and top off as needed
