A strange, yet understandable adaptation for the Amish to make.

The styling may be a bit modern for their particular lives, but it's self propelled and allows a few freedoms that they may have denied themselves without taking up the skates.

Some great photos too.

Not all of those pics are of the Amish, some are Mennonites. Amish will always make sure they are not photograhed from the front.

You are assuming the photographer got their permission to take the shots. Many people do not take the time to learn the cultures of others.

Well folks, I'll clue you in with the back packs and scoot-boots, Where I live in Ohio the
largest crack ring was busted consisting of ALL amish teens, male and female and believe me they aren't as innocent as you may believe. The elders are, but the kids are bustin' out.

We a have Amish communities all around where I live. Great people. Although I have yet to see any on roller blades....Least they are getting some great exercise 05

I used to live in Hartville, OH. and I went to school w/alot of Mennonites and got to know some Amish folks as well ....good people in general and I have alot of respect for their dedication to faith and family and to their way of life.

hell i used to drive on these roads to relax and to really run my car when i could not get to the track. Most beautiful landscapes and roads. I used to make a left out of my driveway and be in Amish and mennonite country...if i made a right it was a golf course and housing development......a wooded and spacious area but develpoed none the less. bad bad bad spelling me make 2day....narph

I thought the amish people didn't want their pictures taken. Due to the fact that they think it captures their soul.. Or I could just be wrong who knows.
