Abandoned Soviet Airfield in Ukraine (42 pics)

Pics | 2 Sep, 2010 | Views: 12153 |  +27   |

30 years ago it was one of the world's most powerful air force. But now these planes, helicopters and trucks stay abandoned and forgotten somewhere in Ukraine. No guards, no military. Any one may come and take whatever he wants.

It's not like those plains and helicopters are going to fly of the ground anytime soon! 07

A sad end for so many machines.

You might get a truck going with a change of fluids and tyres in a week or two, but nothing there is going to fly without months, if not years of carefull rebuilding by experienced mechanics.

Probably a good place to go if you need a centrepiece for your lawn though.....

No need to be so dramatic in description, it's a boneyard, there's one a lot bigger in Arizona, very nicely visible in Google maps.
