first hipsters make cycling look douche-y, and now they make it unsafe. If you have any friends or family that camps, ask them what happens to the shock cord in their tent poles after awhile. This looks like the same principle (with the same weakness). 02

Hey MathIsHard,

Your concept may be right, but let's not compare a tent pole made of aluminium and a 'high tech' bike prototype.
There is that black box underneth the seat. I'm not an engineer, but I assume it is used to fasten a cable core which holds the little pieces together. It's stability also depends on the material it is made of.

I wouldn't use it on rough ground especially downhill but I think it could make a decent city cruiser. A 1000 bucks worth of cruiser. :D

I agree Raistlin, I would also expect the tension in the wires can be adjusted just like we have been doing in the hand breaks.
