I would call it the mystery of the century.
Why do all dogs love hanging out of moving cars?
Any ideas?

Certain senses, like smell are intrinsic to dogs. Dogs enjoy the sense of movement, the same way guys like speed.

Jimmy Johnson, I think you are right. Just imagine having a smorgasbord of smells whipping by you all at once. Doggy heaven! Loved the pictures, by the way.

Dogs ears are air scoops, they stick their heads out to get a refill.

A dog puttinh his head out the window is like doggie prozac! my dog loves it!! She puts her arms on the door frame a kind of leans forward almost looks like she owns the car and she is leading me on a crusade! Funniest thing I have ever seen. I am going to take some pics of her doing it and post them here. As far as why she does it?? She does go into super smelly mode. She raises her nose up and moves it as if she is trying to smell the scent of food from a few blocks away. Once the car gets up to speed she stops sniffing and just leans into the wind and I swear if she could talk she would yell ''GO FASTER FASTER,FASTER,FASTER, YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"!!!
!

I never thought of protecting her eyes when she has her head out of the window but after seeing these pics, as silly as it seems and looks, I gotta get her some goggles now only I am going to add a WW one fighter pilot funny looking hat and a scarf just like in the cartoons.

OK Maybe not.
