Crazy thing is that because these actors got exorbitant paychecks virtually everyone else involved in the films got a pittance.

Can't understand why Tom Cruise gets roles in any film. Seeing him cast in a movie make me not want to see it.

This does not reflect what these people were 'paid' to be in the movie. The total budget for Batman was only $48M, so Nicholson was not 'paid' $60M. These people were given a percentage of the gross and thereby *earned* these huge amounts.

Well Rand, READ the quote again, it is pretty simple. Actors/actresses negotiate a price based upon an agreed amount and/or a percentage of sales. So, as the box office sells and makes profits, the actor gets a percentage of sales. Many actor/actresses will produce or direct as well which increases their percentage. Regardless of what we "think" they should earn based upon our perception, what the production company and the actor/actress agree upon is what they are paid.

Keanu Reeves gave away most of the money he made for the first Matrix movie (I don't know about the others) to the SFX team. They were being paid a pittance. He felt that without them the movie wouldn't have been such a success. He really is a nice guy from everything I've heard.

He is satanist and his movies are carting hidden message to betray Jesus. He was my fav actor until I read the truth (justified by extracts from movies and bible)
