Sure, some specialized careers are based on evolutionary theories.

You have a chunk of knowledge in your head that is completely useless other than to make you upset that anyone could think differently.

Well it's certainly made me rethink my values. Instead of millions of years of evolution now I believe we were made in seven days by some big ghost in a cloud. Phew, lucky escape for me.

erickthered, I find myself agreeing entirely. I'm of the belief that both should be taught. Because how is a person to know how to choose except to know that they can. Teach one singularly and it becomes force-feeding. In the words of a briliant fellow: Students are not graded on their ability to answer the truth. Rather, they are graded on their ability to answer what they are taught. Whether it is the truth as it relates to their world does not matter. Ultimately, it is their memory, not their conscience that is graded.

and when they find the missing links then they have case

if human came from apes and evolved to higher stage to human being

then the stage between apes and human and apes is higher and more evolved than

apes ...then why it is missing while the apes (which is less evolved) is not missing

Its been a long time since evolution was a hypothesis (is what you meant to say). Its a proven theory now. Like the earth is round. We have found all the 'missing' links, and have even been able to see evolution working with several species (eg: guppy fish in amazon).

It has a lot of proof at this stage, the thing the bible is missing. Infact, the book you read (actually, you probably never read it) was written 300 years after jesus. It was made by a group of people who saw many sects of christianity rising and decided to write a book from carefully selected parts of the gospels (there were a lot, and many were discarded).

So the book is what people 300 years after jesus think jesus did. Then it gets translated and translated again and again, like a giant game of chinese whispers.

Evolution has pretty much been proven but that doesn't mean other things aren't at play - think panspermia, founder effect or even intelligent intervention by God (as they say) or aliens (gasp).

People have a right to hold their own beliefs and we should respect them without insulting. Hopefully time and science will put everyone it their place.

funny how there is so much hate form both sides that can neither prove their theory.....hmmm. Evolution is NOT a 'proven theory", humanity has NOT found the missing links at all (to a scientific fact). The 'Bible' was written on scrolls THOUSANDS of years before Christ, the New Testament was written after.
All I am saying folks, if you are going to get emotional about a post, might want to have your facts straight.

How can we establish truth without obtaining evidence for or against it? This is what science has established on the basis of evidence and it does very much come into play into our every day lives, in fact people's lives hinge on evidence and the rigors of the scientific method of research. The culture of science is to ask questions, be skeptical of those in authority. The alternative is to not ask skeptical questions and be subservient, to which your life is up for grabs. Why should I respect someone whose whole hearted beliefs are to separate people into the "us and thems" and to which some much hate filled rhetoric and dogma spill forth? Why should I respect someone if their opinion is that "if you are going to heaven" then we don't have to worry about all these other things? It is undeserved respect and the only sanity is in its numbers.

Meh, I'm not basing my likes or dislikes of these peeps on what they believe or not believe. Tom Cruise is a total psycho and I still enjoy his movies, I just can't help it. He's a freakin awesome action actor
