i find it wierd when i watch a post like this and between the random ads a starving children or wateraid ad comes up. makes you wonder why people who earn so much are not required to help the ones who are starving etc by law?? :11:

candysack, I understand what you're saying, but find it harder still to see why someone should be paid so much to play a game with a ball.

There are so many people earning insane amounts of money for doing mundane things, like kicking or throwing a ball, or sitting in a office with a fancy title yet making few decisions about the companies they 'run'.

And then as you said, there are people dying because they don't have sufficient funds to dig a hole for clean water, or to irrigate fields to grow the simplest of crops. The world is an awful place at times!

fairmania,

I dont think their earnings can be changed because of the way way overinflated nature of popular sports. but any state could say that anyone who earns above a certain amount should contribute more. yet what you see is that the majority of donations on aid lines are coming from pensioners, while the rich(majority) people and companies do everything they can to avoid even paying as much tax as the average joe, using offsore accounts tax evasion techniques etc.
