It was a 1987 Pontiac Fiero that cost $60 and it was supposed to be converted into a Lamborghini Reventon.
I have no idea what it will look like at the end, because it's not ready yet.
A real Lamborghini Reventon is the one in the last photo.

All that effort. I detect a lonely man, and is this really the only way for someone with this much fabricationg skills to have such a car.

Is this because of some loophole based around creating one car from another bypassing certain tests and safety matters?

Why didn't he just build it from scratch instead?

everythings easier if you have something to base it off. if the chassis is close to the same size and wheel base the same then it would make it all a hell of alot easier to get started and thus actually finish the project without trying to figure out where to start and cracking the shits and giving up

Really hope he never runs into a padestrian in that thing. They'd be sliced in half by that metal nose.

Whilst I don't denegrate the effort, ingenuity, or skill, I really have to wonder about the point.

For CRAZY, as much as anyone else here, I didn't mean to deny the man his skills, which are exceptional, as I remember the days when a custom car was more than a store-bought plastic kit glued to your mums old Citroen Saxo.

The days of proper fabrication are waning, and 2wen has a good point about the uses for a base car in this project, but I'm still curious about the wish to make something so exotic, as it is truly a beautiful car to copy and that is sadly all it will ever be. A copy.

A Fiero though?!?!?!? Maybe the best choice for a cover-up.

No matter how hard you try to pretend, you'll always know you're fake inside. If you're doing a reproduction for some 'artiistic' puropse, you could build a steam engine. The people that know, like connoiseurs of high end cars, or your family, can see right through the bullshit.

I'm a longtime oldtimer lover as you can see my in avatar ..and would like to say that that man's skills deserves a master in magic metal working ...see how close the gaps are ....who cares about the basis ? Everybody starts from something , even best rodders ...very few start from scratch . And that V8 will for sure be reliable than the italian's high revving , but exciting , shit ...a perfect copy ....not sure, but better than your average plastic and bondo stuff . That man should make a rod or a Kustom ....i'd like him to be a relative of mine .... 21

fairmania,
he used a fiero as a lot of people who try to make a kit car..because it is the cheapest mid engine car out there.

I have never seen a kit car done with such skill and precision. I really can't call this a kit car... this guy is really building from the ground up or frame up. It looks like he is going to have some zoom zoom under the hood to. Though it will not be a real lambo.. I am guessing this car is going to be wayyyy above and street rod or tuned jap or german car. I would love to take this car out on the track when it is done to see how it turns out performance wise. I have NEVER seen a kit with the quality this car has.. they usually look really silly...slap a ground kit and front and rear aero kit and its done...I have seen a lot of special builds because of my job in the past and this really takes the proverbial cake. the only thing I could really compare it to is the three ferrari race cars built for Paul Newman l one caught fire and the last one the # 2 car my boss owns and it is a screamer the other one the # 1 car I think went into the wall. They were the only three built. It was a track car so the suspension and powertrain were ferrari but the shell was a composite obviously as it was a huffacker damn I can never remember how it is spelled.
