Gene Wilder recently passed away and he was well known for playing Willy Wonka in "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory." Before the film went into production Wilder wrote a letter to the director of the film with his thoughts on Willy Wonka and the letter just goes to show that Gene understood the character better than anybody.
