A group of Chinese tourists recently found themselves fearing for their lives as they walked on a 3,540 foot high glass walkway. Visitors said they could feel one of the panes shaking beneath their feet and they looked down only to discover that the glass was cracking. A new species of rat was discovered in the high altitude jungle of Sulawesi, Indonesia and it's being referred to as the hog-nosed rat. The rat has some very unique features including a small mouth and the hog like nose that gave the inspiration for the mammals name. The species is so unique that it represents a new genus.

The two farmers were digging deep into the field as they tried to drain water when they struck a bone. They then called in Daniel Fisher who is a paleontologist at the University of Michigan who confirmed that the bones belonged to a woolly mammoth. Kind of makes you wonder what's buried in your own backyard.
