Mara Salvatrucha is a gang that originated in Los Angeles and spread to Central America and parts of the United States. Mara Salvatrucha is therefore composed of many loosely-connected gangs or factions of the same name, known as "cliques". The gangs' names are commonly abbreviated as MS, Mara, and MS-13, and are composed mostly of Salvadorans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, and Nicaraguans.

There's nothing like drinking overpriced liquor in the remnants of one of the US's biggest scandals! The cargo plane at El Avion is built around a 1954 Model, Fairchild C-123 that was (hold on, it gets confusing) abandoned by (depending who you ask) the CIA/Contras/"A private group led by a retired United States Army...

The Volkswagen Type 2 (also known as Transporter) was the second automotive line introduced by German automaker Volkswagen. It was a van introduced in 1950, initially based on Volkswagen's first model, the Type 1, also known as the "Beetle". The Type 2 is the forerunner of modern cargo and passenger vans. The Type 2 spawned a number of imitators both in the United States and Europe including the Ford Econoline, Dodge A100, and the Chevrolet Corvan, the last even adopting the Type 2's rear-engine configuration. Updated versions of this line are still being produced in international markets, both as a passenger and cargo van and as a pickup truck. It is also unofficially known as a "Microbus" or "hippie van," the latter due to its popularity with the 1960s/70s counterculture movement.

Haiti - It was lunchtime in one of Haiti's worst slums, and Charlene Dumas was eating mud. With food prices rising, Haiti's poorest can't afford even a daily plate of rice, and some take desperate measures to fill their bellies...

I honestly can't figure out how I feel about this: is it the greatest achievement of mankind thus far, or is it an abomination of foodstuffs that deserves to be hucked back into the gaping maw of whatever food processing plant it was spewed from? I just don't know what to think anymore. Would you eat a cheeseburger in a can? Keep in mind that it'll look nowhere near as delicious as the example above when you pull it out of the can.

This is a cheeseburger. In a can... (8 pics)

At first glance, I thought that someone actually managed to enlarge computer components to fit them snugly in the back of a truck, but I was absolutely wrong. The PC parts are the same size and the vehicle housing the stuff is a model replica of the Mercedes-Benz 1850L truck.

An Alligator is a crocodilian in the genus Alligator of the family Alligatoridae. The name alligator is an anglicized form of the Spanish el lagarto (the lizard), the name by which early Spanish explorers and settlers in Florida called the alligator. There are two living alligator species: the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) and the Chinese alligator (Alligator sinensis).

There are nooks and crannies of enthusiasm which make this perversion we have with cars seem quaint. One example among many is the collection of vintage phones, which up until recently we didn't know existed, much less that there were vintage telephone display and trade shows. Regardless, here exists a link which neatly stitches together that world and this one, a Douglas DC-3 which has been sliced and diced and dropped onto an unknown truck chassis, and then outfitted to carry old phone hardware around. Bizarre, yes, but also the bitchinest way to go vannin' ever.

Kingda Ka is a roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey, USA. At its opening on May 21, 2005, it became the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world, claiming the title from Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. The train is launched by a hydraulic launch mechanism to 128 miles per hour (206 km/h) in 3.5 seconds. At the end of the launch track, the train climbs the main top hat tower reaching a height of 456 feet (139.5 m). Due to aviation safety concerns, the tower is equipped with three dual strobes: 2 mid-way up, and one on the top.

And we have some video inside!

Modern green roofs, which are made of a system of manufactured layers deliberately placed over roofs to support growing medium and vegetation, are a relatively new phenomenon. However, green roofs or sod roofs in Northern Scandinavia have been around for centuries. The modern "trend" started when green roofs were developed in Germany in the 1960s, and have since spread to many countries. Today, it is estimated that about 10% of all German roofs have been “greened.” Green roofs are also becoming increasingly popular in the United States, although they are not as common as in Europe.

Strokkur (Icelandic for "churn") is a geyser in the geothermic region beside the Hvítá River in Iceland. Strokkur is only a few meters away from Geysir. However, unlike Geysir which erupts infrequently and may be dormant for years at a time, Strokkur erupts very reliably every 5-10 minutes, hurling boiling water to heights of up to 20 metres (70ft) towards the sky.

What we have here is a 1974 Porsche 914 with a Chevy 350 engine and a Ferrari-influenced body kit, sort of a German Malaise version of the Fierrari. The owner needs to sell because he's "just sick," plus he's accepted a lifetime career opportunity in NYC and, you know, "Goodness only knows what insurance would cost and what vandalism it would be subject to there." The disturbing part is this statement: "On the road it sounds like a gay deep throated angry demon!" Yes, that's exactly the sound we're all looking for in a car!
